How to Read Your Bill

Use this list to understand your billing statement.

Items on your statement include a brief description, and the corresponding amount appears in either the payments/ credits or charges column.

  • Registration fee

    (for Fall , Winter, and Spring quarters)

    You are enrolled for this quarter, and this is your mandatory registration fee.

    • Undergraduate quarterly fees include:

      • Campus activity fee
      • University Center fee
      • Recreation facility fee
      • ICA activity fee
      • Mandatory health insurance
      • College activity fee

  • Mandatory health insurance (USHIP)

    (for Fall, Spring, and Winter quarters)

    You have the mandatory health insurance (SHIP) fee included with mandatory registration fees each quarter, and this is your current charge.

  • Exempt health insurance (USHIP) or grad student health insurance waiver

    You requested a waiver of the mandatory health insurance (SHIP) , and it was accepted.

  • Deferment of registration charge

    You signed up for the Triton Registration Installment Plan (TRIP), so the amount you see is 2/3 of your total registration fees and will be billed later in the quarter.

  • TRIP repayment installment

    You signed up for TRIP, and this is the amount of one of your installments.

  • Deferred registration payment plan fee

    You are enrolled in TRIP, and the non-refundable quarterly application fee of $30 for residents and $45 for non-residents is due with the first installment.

  • Monthly pay plan for housing and meals

    You selected the monthly installment payment plan for undergraduate housing and dining fees, and this is your current charge.

  • Quarterly pay plan for housing and meals

    You selected the quarterly installment payment plan for undergraduate housing and dining fees, and this is your current charge.

  • Refund of housing deposit and other payments

    You will receive a refund of your housing deposit or other housing payment either by check or direct deposit to your account.

  • Financial aid refund check of direct deposit

    A financial aid refund has been processed and is on its way either by check to your current address or via direct deposit to your account.

  • Refund of cash or check overpayment

    You made a cash or check overpayment and requested a refund which you will receive either by check to your current address or direct deposit to your account.
