Fall Applicants

Before you apply: Find out how you match up with UC San Diego.
Join us for one of our Application Workshops to help with the UC application. Two dates, lots of information!

• November 1–30

  Apply online during November

  • Freshmen and transfer students, file your applications for Fall 2010 academic year.
  • When you apply online, you'll receive an e-mail acknowledgement that we've received your application.

• January

  • We'll confirm your application via e-mail so you can follow the application steps online.
  • You'll receive an ID number from UC Central Processing – your Application ID. If you applied to more than one UC campus, you'll use this number—together with your individual campus ID number—to access application websites.
  • We'll confirm your application via e-mail, with an Application ID number. 
  • To log onto MyApplication, you'll need: 
    • 7-digit application ID
    • Date of birth
    • City of birth

• January 1–March 2

  • Apply for financial aid.
  • Apply for a CAL grant. Forms are also available from your school counselor.

    Note: Applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis.

• Mid–March to March 31

  Freshman admission decisions are posted.

  • You can view admission decisions online. You'll also receive an e-mail reminder to check MyApplication.
  • The online packet for admitted students will include a preliminary award notice for students who have filed a FAFSA, scholarship awards that have been made, and an application for housing.

• Mid–March to April 30

  Transfer admission decisions are posted.

  • You can view admission decisions online. You'll also receive an e-mail reminder to check MyApplication.

Admitted students

Admitted Freshmen

• April 4

  • Attend Admit Day.

• May 1

  • Deadline to submit Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) and Statement of Legal Residence (SLR). Both must be submitted. To submit online, go to MyApplication.

• July 15

  • Deadline to submit FINAL documents:
    • Official transcripts: high school, college, or IB
    • Official test scores (ACT/ SAT, TOEFL)
    • AP grade reports, including changes

Admitted Transfer Students

• May 9

  • Attend Transfer Admit Day.

• June 1

• Deadline to submit Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) and Statement of Legal Residence (SLR). Both must be submitted. To submit online, go to MyApplication.

• July 15

  • Deadline to submit FINAL documents:
    • Official transcripts: high school, college, or IB
    • Official test scores (ACT/ SAT, TOEFL)
    • AP grade reports, including changes
    • IGETC certification from your California community college

Winter Applicants
