Using the UCSD Finger Search Engine

Use the Finger search to find address information by entering a last name or partial last name along with the E-mail host machine information.

UCSD maintains a finger server (@ucsd.edu) containing student, staff, and faculty information, which is separate from the UCSD Directory.

• Enter the last name or partial last name of the person you're looking for, along with the e-mail host machine name. Example: smith@ucsd.edu
• Click the Search button or hit your Enter key. The search returns names that match the consonants of the last name you entered. You will see either information about the person or a list of last names relatively close to the name you entered.
