Receiving Your Loan: Entrance Loan Counseling

Learn how to complete the entrance loan counseling requirement so you can receive your loan.

1. Determine if you must complete entrance loan counseling.

   1. You need to complete online entrance loan counseling if:
      • You have a student loan such as:
        Perkins loan
        Stafford loan
        University loan
        Campus-based loan
      • This is your first federal or university student loan.
      Note: Entrance loan counseling must be completed or your loan funds will not move to your student account.

2. Complete any necessary paperwork.

   1. If you are a first-time Perkins Loan or University Loan recipient:
      • Sign-on and complete the Perkins Master Promissory Note or download the University Loan Master Promissory Note (PDF).
      • Mail or deliver the forms to:

3. Complete the entrance loan counseling.

   1. Take the required online seminar:
      • Undergraduate and Graduate Students
      • Medical Students
