The Student Affairs unit of the Office of Graduate Studies (OGS) provides:

  • Information to prospective students about UCSD graduate programs
  • Welcome and campus-wide orientations for new students
  • Publications, workshops, and activities to enhance student development, social interactions, and career advancement for current graduate students
  • All Grad Symposium, co-sponsored with the Graduate Student Association to enhance graduate student interaction across disciplines
  • Conflict resolution assistance for issues involving programs, fellow students, staff, administrators, and faculty
  • Student advising for effective use of campus services and administrative procedures
  • Commencement, graduation preparation, and ceremonies

Graduate Student Affairs Publications

  • Grad to Grad: A quarterly publication written by graduate students for graduate students, promoting communication and the discussion of issues and ideas
  • Graduate Student List Serve: E-mail notification of graduate student social, academic, and career events and opportunities. All registered graduate students automatically receive these messages through their UCSD e-mail accounts
  • Welcome to UCSD: An online guide to admitted students providing information and direction prior to their arrival on campus
  • Graduate Student Handbook: An online handbook that serves as a guide and resource to graduate students throughout their graduate career, providing step-by-step instructions on most aspects of graduate study
  • Opportunities: An online source for information about graduate school opportunities at UCSD, guidelines for graduate school preparation, and suggestions on how to evaluate and select a graduate program
  • African American/ Black Student Resource Guide to UCSD: A collaborative online publication with the undergraduate colleges and current students to welcome new students to campus and provide an orientation and resources for their new UCSD community
  • Mexican-American, Chicano, and Latino Student Resource Guide to UCSD: A collaborative online publication with the undergraduate colleges and current students to welcome new students to campus and provide an orientation and resources for their new UCSD community
