Presentation Enhancement Workshops

Learn how to enhance your presentations with tools like PowerPoint 2007 for Windows in free workshops offered by the UCSD Biomedical Library (map). Attend any or all, depending on your needs and skill level.

PowerPoint Beginnings — Learn PowerPoint fundamentals.

Areas covered include:

• Developing a concept
• Making and importing an outline using Microsoft Word
• Editing slides
• Using the menu, toolbars, task panes, and different views

Power Enhancements — Learn to format your master slides and other intermediate-level techniques to visually enhance your presentation. Experience using PowerPoint is necessary. Attending PowerPoint Beginnings is helpful but not required.

Learn to insert and edit elements such as:

• Tables
• Charts
• Diagrams
• Sound
• Video
• Animation

Break-Through Presentations — Learn presentation best practices and how to impress your audience with a well-timed balance of speech and visual communication.

This workshop will help you with:

• Preparation
• Organization
• Rehearsing
• Printing handouts and speaker notes
• Exporting your presentation to other applications
• Publishing your presentation online

PowerPoint for Posters — Learn how to create well-organized and dynamic posters for presentations at conferences and scientific meetings.
