• Participate in Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)

  CAPS mission is to promote the personal, social, and emotional growth of students and offers group meetings, workshops and forums in various topic areas, such as:

• Become an Alumni Discovery ambassador

  • As an ambassador, you’ll conduct face-to-face informational interviews with UCSD alumni and hear their personal stories. It’s a great opportunity to hone interpersonal communication and networking skills.
  • The Alumni Discovery Initiative strengthens alumni ties to the campus community. Help capture the alumni experience at UC San Diego by learning about alumni interests and perceptions and documenting alumni stories.

• Volunteer for the English-in-Action tutor program

  • Use your English language skills to help UCSD international students, scholars and their spouses develop conversational English skills.
  • If you're interested in improving your language skills or volunteering as a tutor, contact the International Center at (858) 534-3730 or visit them online.

• Enhance your presentation skills

  • Enroll in one or all of the Biomedical Library's free presentation enhancement workshops, and learn to use Microsoft PowerPoint and other useful presentation tools.

• Participate in Intergroup Dialogue

  • Intergroup Dialogue, through the Intergroup Relations Program (IRP), brings students together across different social identities — such as race or gender — to learn essential skills for citizenship in our diverse democracy.
