Degrees and Diplomas

About Diplomas

After graduation

You will automatically receive a UCSD diploma upon successful completion of your university and degree requirements.

Undergraduate and graduate student diplomas are mailed to the student's permanent mailing address approximately 3–6 months after the end of the quarter of graduation.

Note: Multiple degrees are listed on one diploma. Minors are not listed on diplomas.

If you have not received a diploma by the end of the time allowed, call Academic Records, (858) 534-3144.

Replacement diplomas

If you need to order a replacement or duplicate diploma:

  • Undergraduate and graduate students: Return the completed Duplicate Diploma Application to the Office of the Registrar with all required information and payment.
  • Medical students:
    1. Write a signed letter that includes your:
      • Full name
      • PID
      • Date of birth
      • Date of graduation
    2. Write a $35.00 check payable to "UC Regents."
    3. Send the letter and check to:
      School of Medicine
      Student Affairs Office
      University of California, San Diego
      9500 Gilman Drive
      La Jolla, CA 92093-0606
