How to Enroll in Summer Session: Visitors

Find out how to register for Summer Session classes if you're not a current UCSD student.

If you're already familiar with the enrollment process, go directly to the Summer Session online application.

Note: All non-UC international students, read about international student programs.

How to apply:

1. Make sure you're eligible.

   1. You can enroll in Summer Session if you fit in one of these categories and do not have outstanding fees on any UCSD account:
      • Are a UCSD employee
      • Are an admitted fall student at UCSD or another UC campus
      • Have graduated from high school as of spring 2009 or are at least 18 years old
      • Are currently enrolled in a college, including another UC campus, and can return to your home campus for the next fall academic term

2. Understand Summer Session policies and procedures.

   1. Go to Summer Session Web site to read important information regarding enrollment, fees, deadlines, refunds, and more. You are responsible for knowing this information.
   2. If you are are currently enrolled in a college, including another UC campus, contact your home campus for information on transferring units, or visit the ASSIST Web site.

3. Find classes and get approvals.

   1. Go to the Schedule of Classes to see a list of Summer Session courses and their fees. Make sure you check for prerequisites and restriction codes.
   2. If you plan to enroll in more than 15 credits, you must get approval from the Summer Session director.

4. Enroll in your classes.

   1. If you are a current UC student, have your UC student ID number available to complete your application.
   2. Visit Summer Session for visiting students for enrollment details.
   3. Go to the Schedule of Classes to record the section ID and session for your selected course.
   4. Submit your Summer Session application:
      • If you are a returning UCSD Summer Session student or newly admitted fall UCSD student, enroll via the Summer Session online application.
      • If you don't know your user ID/ PID and password/ PAC, call (858) 534-3150.
      • If you have your user ID/ PID, but don't remember your password, you can reset it.
      • If you have never attended UCSD Summer Session, you'll need to create your user ID and password to enroll via the Summer Session online application.
   5. After you successfully submit your application, you can add your classes.
      

      Note: If you miss an enrollment deadline, you must pay a late fee.

5. Pay your fees.

   1. Your registration in Summer Session is complete when you pay your fees. For information, see Summer Session Fees and Payment.
