Note: The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program is on hiatus for the 2008 tax season. Although volunteers won't be preparing tax returns on campus, Student Legal Services offers this new tax outreach program to help taxpayers identify resources and locate assistance with 2008 tax returns. Student Legal Services is exploring the possibility of bringing VITA back to campus in 2009-2010, and continues to partner closely with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

Student Legal Services (SLS) needs 8-10 student volunteers to work on this season's Tax Outreach Program, a community-service learning project.
Volunteers will be selected near the start of Winter Quarter, and your training begins in January. From February to April, you'll gain valuable experience as you assist students and community members. You'll support the program's success by helping with a variety of projects, including distribution of resources, staffing the hotline, marketing, and outreach.
