Meet Student Legal Services:
As the counseling attorney and director of Student Legal Services, Jon oversees our legal counseling, referrals, and education. He also conducts individual and group counseling sessions on civil, criminal, and UCSD-related matters, and is a member of several campus committees charged with reviewing, revising, and implementing policies and procedures affecting students.
Jon Carlos is from San Bernardino, Calif., and was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2002. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a degree in psychology (A.B., 1995), and earned his law degree from the University of Arizona's James E. Rogers College of Law (J.D., 2001). He is a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution, Labor and Employment, and International Law sections of the San Diego County Bar Association.
Jessica serves as legal education coordinator for Student Legal Services. As a licensed attorney, she conducts individual and group counseling sessions, designs and implements Student Legal Services' Preventive Legal Education Programs, and manages all aspects of the Tax Outreach Program. She also coordinates the Undergraduate Internship Program.
Jessica is from San Diego, Calif., and was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2006. She graduated from the University of San Diego with a degree in Communication Studies (B.A., 2002) and received her law degree from Creighton University School of Law (J.D., 2005). She also holds a Master of Forensic Sciences degree with an emphasis in investigation from National University (M.F.S., 2008). She has extensive training in alternative dispute resolution.
