Student Affairs employs over 1,000 staff and 2,000 student employees who provide a multitude of services and opportunities to enrich the education and social lives of UC San Diego students.

Vice Chancellor – Student Affairs Office provides policy and management direction for Student Affairs and also directly supervises a number of units, including:
Admissions and Enrollment Services (AES) recruits, admits, and enrolls the highest caliber of undergraduate students who represent the diversity of high school graduates and community college transfers. The cluster also manages student financial aid and scholarship programs, classroom scheduling, recording and maintenance of grades and other academic records, and other duties. AES units include:
The College Deans of Student Affairs and Resident Deans at UCSD's six colleges oversee the administration of student life and student development within the colleges. Units include the Student Affairs offices at:
Sports Facilities & Programs provides opportunities for the UCSD community to participate in a wide variety of recreational pursuits, oversees 25 competitive sports club teams and 32 recreation teams, manages over 100 sports facilities on the UCSD campus (including RIMAC), and offers maintenance, scheduling, and support services for special events in these facilities. Student Educational Advancement (SEA) provides academic support services to UCSD students to enhance academic performance and preparation for graduate/ professional school. It also oversees student-centered outreach to K-12 schools and families in San Diego and Imperial Counties to ensure that all students are informed about UC requirements and assisted in their preparation for higher education. Student Life, along with student programs originating in the colleges, and in cooperation with UCSD's Associated Students and the Graduate Student Association, is responsible for the scope and quality of student cultural, social, and civic life at UCSD. Units include:
Student Policies and Judicial Affairs administers and implements student policies and regulations, oversees student conduct procedures, and in collaboration with the College Deans and Office of Graduate Studies, administers student non-academic misconduct proceedings. It also provides student legal services and promotes improved human relations within UCSD's student body. Units include:
