Information for Prospective Students With Disabilities

Admissions

Students with disabilities are admitted to UC San Diego under the general admission requirements. There is no separate admission procedure.

In the Personal Statement section on the UC application, you may describe your disability, the challenges it presents, the strategies you used to overcome these challenges, and your academic achievements.

Receiving services

All disability-related academic support services are based on the student's current diagnosis and correlated limitations that may impede academic processing.

Before students receive any academic support, they must:

Housing

On campus: If you are admitted to UCSD and require special on-campus housing accommodations, apply for housing and contact OSD as early as possible at (858) 534-4382. To receive accommodations in on-campus housing, you must have a referral from OSD and meet all housing deadlines.

Off campus: For information about off-campus housing, see Commuter Student Services.
